Flying for Sport and Recreation, combines fun, challenge and
skill, in a great social atmosphere.
Each month the Club holds competition days. This is your chance
to practise precision circuits, forced landings, life raft dropping,
navigation etc - a mix of practical and fun things to do, and
a great way to keep those skills honed.
Competitions start from the most simple for low hour student
pilots to the most advanced for the seasoned veterans of the
sport. But most importantly all share on an equal basis their
enjoyment and the fellowship that team spirit engenders.
Winners receive Club trophies and may go on to represent the
Club in Regional, National, and Trans Tasman competitions.
Fly aways of one, two or three days duration are held throughout
the year. A chance to fly anywhere in the country with other
pilot members, friends, under the supervision of a senior instructor.
At the end of the day relax and join in the recounting of the
day's fun and experiences.
"Strip days" to private airfields, mountain flying
and picnic days are all part of the Club scene.
Night Flying events are held during the winter months allowing
Club members to experience the thrill of flying at night and
a chance to enjoy the stunning views of Christchurch at night.
